Nomad Digital
Nomad Digital is an Internet Protocol (IP) Connectivity solutions provider to the transport sector. It deploys wireless broadband connections for trains, metros, trams and buses, including passenger Wi-Fi services and remote condition monitoring for on-board rail components.
Headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom, the company is a global supplier to train manufacturers and rail operators.

Nomad Digital was founded by Nigel Wallbridge and Graeme Lowdon〔http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/5042078.F1_team_boss_is_North_East_entrepreneur/〕 in 2002. The co-founders met during the sale of the telecommunications business Wide Area Markets to the business-to-business Internet trading company J2C.〔http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/c2671634-5dc1-11e3-b3e8-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3TFTKaj4Q〕 Lowdon and Wallbridge identified an opportunity to increase bandwidth and hence provide high speed data and Internet connectivity to moving vehicles, such as trains, using the wireless WiMax system, which can operate through tunnels and underground.〔http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4363196.stm〕 As well as providing Internet connectivity, wireless connectivity enables streaming of CCTV security images and allows onboard train equipment and systems to be checked in real time.
